About Katerina

Katerina Mina is making a name for herself as one of the finest spinto sopranos of her generation. The London based Greek-Cypriot opera soprano Katerina Mina graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama with full scholarship from the Corporation of London and the A.G. Leventis Foundation.

Katerina was a prize winner at the “Julián Gayarre International Singing Competition” in Spain and the “Consorso Vocale Internationale di Musica Sacra” in Italy and is the recipient of the Russian Federation’s Medal for ‘Peace and Friendship’.

Katerina Mina has just finished recording her new CD Album with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Grzegorz Nowak. The CD will be released in the following months by the RPO’s Record Label and will feature operatic arias by Verdi, Giordano, Beethoven, Wagner, Cilea & Puccini, Andromache’s Farewell by Samuel Barber, as well as two world-première pieces by Swiss composer Stephan Hodel based on Katerina’s poetry.

Following an official invitation by UNESCO, in May 2018 Katerina will perform Linda Lamon’s piece Romance for the Stars during the official inauguration ceremony of the International Day of Light at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
